Agritourism in Greve, Chianti

Like the best hotels, the Villa Vignamaggio at Greve in Chianti can offer guests a range of top quality services and amenities.

We are talking about an organic estate which has as its philosophy, the provision of high standards of work.  This is in evidence in the wellness centre, the restaurant, in the rooms and suites, in the agricultural policy and the estate’s organic farms.

This agritourism has evolved in the heart of the Tuscan countryside from one of the oldest Chianti Classico wineries.  The whole estate is enchanting and typical of the region with the fourteenth century Renaissance villa at its heart.  This iconic building is surrounded by rural out-buildings and formal Italian gardens.

There are a variety of different rooms spread out across the different buildings with rooms and suites that pay tribute to an antique style whilst still offering every modern comfort.  Some of the suites are also equipped with a jacuzzi!

The outdoor areas of the farm, in addition to providing spectacular views of Greve and the surrounding landscape, include a tennis court, two swimming pools, a sun terrace and beautiful gardens.

Bicycles are available free of charge so that guests can venture out to explore the beautiful countryside or have fun riding along the 3 country trails belonging to the estate.

Inside the modern wellness centre, we can offer massages and beauty treatments based on guests’ specific needs, all of which are carried out by fully qualified staff with high quality products.

For those who love physical activity and having fun, there is also free access to a gym with a hydrotherapy shower and a ping pong and billiard table.

And then, catering to every taste, is the “Monna Lisa” Restaurant which offers a wide range of typical Tuscan dishes that have been recreated with a modern twist.  The menu is put together based on the produce that has been freshly sourced from our own garden and has been grown in accordance with organic principles.

You will wake up in the morning to a delicious buffet breakfast with local cheeses, cold meats, fruit, homemade pastries, cereals and croissants.  Breakfast is served in one of the salons in the main Casolese farmhouse building or on the terrace.

And make sure you don’t miss out on one of the guided tours of our cellars, the tastings of extra virgin olive oil and the classic Chianti wines that are produced by the Villa Vignamaggio.

We can also arrange guided tours, baby-sitting and laundry services.  The estate is pet friendly too!

On the occasion of this special day dedicated to the enamored, we thought we would learn a little about the language of Winter flowers. Decisions about the flowers we choose for someone are often entirely subjective and based on a memory, fragrance, shape or colour that pleases us. Yet certain flowers and plants often conceal […]

Never as in the vineyard is it fair to say that in January we make a clean break ( a “sharp cut” in Italian) with the past: it’s pruning time. Winter pruning is an essential practice for the well-being and vigor of the plant and prepares the vine to produce for the next year. Pruning […]

The Vignamaggio woods are scattered with paths that wind through a rich, fragrant and welcoming Mediterranean vegetation: the trees are not very large, but healthy and lush. Through their foliage one can glimpse the remains of ancient dry-stone walls, reminders that every corner of this land was once cultivated and that the woods, before the […]
