Visit Chianti Wineries

The Villa Vignamaggio agritourism can offer guests an added bonus with offers that include organising wine tastings in the Chianti region.  This is an authentic journey into the history and heritage of a product that is symbolic of the local area and forms an integral part of the Villa’s own personal history.

The Villa Vignamaggio is actually one of the oldest wineries in the Chianti Classico region with its own Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Bianca and Trebbiano vines which, since 2014, have all been converted to the estate’s organic agricultural philosophy.

The result of this is the focal point of the three different types of wine tasting that are held on the estate, amongst the purest in Tuscany.

The wine tastings start with the “Classic Tour” which lasts for an hour and is available at a cost of €10.00 per person.

This is the basic tour which will accompany guests to our cellars in the Chianti region to visit and learn about the complete history of our wines, the way the grapes are processed and the way in which the finished product is stored.

Guests will also have the opportunity to visit the Italian gardens of the Villa Vignamaggio which will undoubtedly leave you with delightful memories of the day that you have spent here together with us.

The “Tasting” is available at a cost of €15.00 per person and doesn’t have a fixed duration.  It is the perfect solution for those who wish to take a break between sampling two different Chianti Classico wines which are accompanied by a selection of cold meats and cheeses.

Alternatively, “At the Counter” is an offer enabling guests to also sample some of the wines from the estate.  This can be arranged in our wine bar in the area which is dedicated to the direct sales of our wines.  The wines that are on offer change on a daily basis!

Decisions about the flowers we choose for someone are often entirely subjective and based on a memory, fragrance, shape or colour that pleases us. Yet certain flowers and plants often conceal […]

WINTER PRUNING
Posted on Wednesday January 20, 2021

Never as in the vineyard is it fair to say that in January we make a clean break ( a “sharp cut” in Italian) with the past: it’s pruning time. Winter pruning is an essential practice for the well-being and vigor of the plant and prepares the vine to produce for the next year. Pruning […]

THE FESTIVE WOODLANDS
Posted on Saturday December 19, 2020

The Vignamaggio woods are scattered with paths that wind through a rich, fragrant and welcoming Mediterranean vegetation: the trees are not very large, but healthy and lush. Through their foliage one can glimpse the remains of ancient dry-stone walls, reminders that every corner of this land was once cultivated and that the woods, before the […]
