Salento I.G.T. Levanter
Grapes: Primitivo 85%, Syrah 15%
Description: This wine comes from Salento (Apulia, Southern Italy), where Vignamaggio manages 25 hectares of vineyards, planted with traditional grapes (Primitivo) and innovative ones (Syrah). Levanter is the name of a hot Mediterranean wind.
Organoleptic Features: Color: intense ruby red. Bouquet: small red fruit and tomato, spice with hints of vanilla. Taste: full, soft.
Ready for consumption: 8 months after harvest.
Harvesting period: First ten days of September.
Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 12 days at a controlled temperature of 28-30 °C. The wine also goes through malolactic fermentation.
Aging: 6 months in 15 to 20 hectoliter oak barrels.
Ideal serving temperature: 64,5-68 °F
